Welcome to Pine Belt Quilters!

Pine Belt Quilters in Hattiesburg, Mississippi was organized in 1984 with 25 members. We have grown to more than 165 members who gather to:

- Encourage and promote the art of
   quilting
- Preserve quilts
- Provide opportunities to exhibit quilt
   and related needlework

These early goals are still at the center of our organizational purpose. Monthly meetings, educational programs, show-and-tell, workshops, community service project groups, and a biennial quilt show provide ways for quilters of any age or level of experience to be involved. Guild members can hone their skills and share a love of quilting through teaching, mentoring, and helping with service projects. They can grow in confidence and leadership ability as guild officers and as committee members.

With our continued growth in membership and the success of our biennial quilt shows, along with 2009 being our 25th anniversary year, it became time to apply for a 501(c)(3) non-profit status under Internal Revenue Service guidelines in June of 2009. We give generously of our time and efforts, and all our proceeds from quilt shows and other projects are turned back into educational and charitable projects. We are helping to preserve the American artistic and cultural heritage of quilting by making traditional bed quilts as well as create original works that become art for the walls. Whether the technique is traditional or innovative, quilts are works of art. Come celebrate the art of quilting with us!
